waxing Chickfilasophical
Show me who your friends are, and I’ll know your beliefs. I haven’t been to church in months, but I still consider myself a Christian. I never feel so alone as when I do at a church on Sunday morning. Knowing not a soul, I sit alone in a house that was built to foster fellowship. Deciding that I could sit alone at home, I don’t get up early every Sunday anymore. There are other reasons, but that is between me and God.
As a Christian, I believe in God. I believe in Love. I believe in marriage. I believe that we should live life with as much Love as possible. I believe that Love does indeed conquer all. There should be no stipulations to Love, no strings, no catches, no fine print. You should Love freely and without anyone telling you it’s morally or Biblically wrong. Love is never wrong.
Some of the most warm, generous and loving people I know are my gay friends. It’s a shame that in most places of the country they can’t express their Love and get married. So, they Love harder. They fight harder with Love. They stage kiss-ins outside of fast food giants. They work to appeal amendments recently passed. They fight intolerance and ignorance with Love.
Show me your gay friends and I’ll see where you stand on the issue of human rights.
Show me who your friends are, and I’ll know your beliefs.
Amen to that!
